Pickled Skins & Hides

Pickled hairsheep and goat skins are becoming a little more scarce. With the move in some African countries to move to further stages of processing, such as wet-blue or even crust, it leaves some tanners little choice with regards to the early stage of processing and what they can do to the leather particularly in terms of high specification water resistance. We can still access a lot of raw materials and put you in touch with those that still trade in this form.

Pickled hides are not the most common way to trade bovine material. However, there are certain instances when chrome free products are required to be produced. Such examples are for the vegetable tanned markets and more niche products such as cricket balls. Again we have access to these raw materials and can help you source these to your grading and technical specifications.
